Wellstreams Silent Directed Retreat
This retreat is full.
There is a quiet place within you
that knows the way home.
Beneath the noise of daily life, beneath words and demands,
there is a deeper listening—
a holy attentiveness waiting to be received.
This retreat is an invitation to return to that place.
To slow your pace.
To rest in silence.
To listen for the gentle movements of the Sacred
stirring in your life.
Here, in the embrace of stillness and nature,
you are invited to simply be—
held by silence, accompanied by prayer,
and open to the mystery that calls you by name.
Other than an opening ritual, the retreat unfolds in silence. The daily rhythm is intentionally simple: shared meals in a quiet atmosphere, generous time for prayer and reflection, and individual spiritual direction sessions. These one-on-one conversations provide a compassionate space to notice, name, and explore how Spirit may be moving in your life.
The retreat takes place on the beautiful grounds of Maria Stein Retreat Center, a place shaped by prayer, silence, and a long Catholic tradition of listening for God. While rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition, this retreat warmly welcomes people of all spiritual paths, questions, and experiences. No particular beliefs are required—only an openness to listen, reflect, and be present. Nature itself becomes a companion, holding us as we explore how the Sacred is inviting each of us into deeper connection with the Divine Mystery and with our own true selves.
You may be drawn to this retreat if you are asking:
Are you longing for a deeper connection with yourself and with God?
Are you seeking renewal and a gentle tending of your heart and spirit?
Are you standing at a threshold, facing an important decision, and desiring clarity and discernment?
If you feel the invitation to rest, listen, and be held in silence, you are welcome here.
Come nourish your soul.
God is constantly descending in the world. This retreat allows me to silence, and through that, increase the presence of the Divine in all things and all people.
- Diane
I found this retreat to be so much more life-giving and full of grace than other “community” retreats because in the end, I was companioned on the journey to love myself versus being loved by others. I feel loved in ways I know will always be available to me.
- Robin
What an incredible experience of joy, contentment, growth and deepening connection to the Divine.
- Betty
We invite you to listen to Katherine Murphy and Diane Lemay as they share their silent directed retreat experience on our Awakening Lives podcast.

Community Event: The Wisdom of the Enneagram - Virtual Workshop
Moving Beyond Personality
Most people consider the Enneagram a valuable framework for personality types. We find it fascinating to see ourselves and others through its insights. However, at a certain point, we see that the characteristics described in Enneagram books reflect only part of the picture.
At a deeper level, the Enneagram describes the relationship between our personality and our Essence or spirit. This workshop will focus on exercises to help us see through the veils of our personality structures to have a more direct experience of our Essence, our true spiritual nature. We will view the nine personality types as nine distinct aspects of human nature and as ones that, rightly understood, can lead us to deeper inner resources and lasting joy.
Instructors: Connie Frecker and Lisa Bueche
Workshop Cost:
Standard $295.00
Early Bird $250.00 (through August 29, 2026)
A limited number of scholarships ($175) are available. Reach out to us for more information.
Workshop Times:
Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm EST. Includes a 1-hour lunch break and two to three 15-minute breaks.

Community Event: Wild Rhythms
Eight gatherings from September 2026 to July 2027. Registration closes September 13, 2026.
An immersive, collaborative, and sacred gathering structured around four—four seasons, four directions, four elements, four chambers of our hearts.
On the eve of the solstices and equinoxes, we will meet via Zoom to ease into the seasons and the wisdom it wants to offer. In between, we will meet in person at Shepherd’s Corner, Blacklick, Ohio. Through our bodies and breath, listening with the natural world, making, ritual, and dialogue, we will continue to discover and create our personal and shared wild rhythms.

Community Event: an antidote to urgency {virtual retreat}
Facilitated by Christine Hiester.
The world is fast and demanding, yet the soul thrives moving at a slow and gentle pace. How do we reconcile this reality and meet what is without a felt sense of urgency always dominating our inner life?
In an intimate online setting, join Christine as she leads a retreat inviting us to reconnect with the pace of soul. Our retreat time will include nourishment for the whole of our being– body, mind, heart, and spirit– and will unfold with room to breathe, reflect, create, journal, move, and connect with others seeking similar respite.
*Registration for those in the continental US includes a snail mail package sent to your home with creative materials to be used during our time together. (For those desiring to attend from outside of the continental US, contact Christine first for adjusted pricing and a small list of materials to have on hand.)

Discovering the Sacred in the Ordinary - A Busy Person’s Virtual Retreat - Zoom
The Spirituality Network is pleased to offer a virtual retreat experience that takes place within the ordinary dailyness of life.
Over the course of these three weeks, you will make special time each day for prayer, reflection, and silence. On Wednesdays we will gather in online community, and you will meet —for about an hour—with an assigned spiritual director to reflect on your daily practice of prayer and the ways in which you are noticing God’ s presence in your daily life. This is an excellent opportunity to get a ‘taste’ of how spiritual direction might enrich your spiritual journey.
The Busy Person’s Retreat: An Introduction to Spiritual Direction
When you think of a retreat, you probably think of getting away from it all, perhaps at a quiet retreat center or a cabin in the woods. Most of us don’t have the luxury of time to actually go away, even for a weekend. That is why we are offering the “BUSY PERSON’S DIRECTED RETREAT”. This is a retreat that does not require you to pack your bags and travel anywhere. This is a retreat that takes place within the ordinary busyness of your daily life. It is a simple idea: over the course of three weeks, you make a commitment to yourself and to God for special time each day for prayer, reflection, and silence. The virtual retreat meets once per week for three weeks via Zoom. The sessions include all participants and spiritual directors in community reflection, plus one hour of individual spiritual direction with an assigned spiritual director. The content of these sessions will reflect on your daily practice of prayer and the ways in which you are (or perhaps are not) noticing the presence of God in your daily life. This is an excellent opportunity to get a “taste” of how spiritual direction might enrich your spiritual journey.
What to expect during a spiritual direction session during this retreat:
Most spiritual directors will begin and end each session with a period of silence and/or spoken prayer. You will be invited to share some of what you have been noticing in response to your prayer time:
What has been meaningful;
Where you noticed the presence of the Divine and how that felt;
What has been difficult, etc.
What has been happening in your daily life.
Listening to your sharing, the spiritual director will prayerfully reflect with you in ways that will help you find insights or deeper meaning in your experiences. Your spiritual director may suggest a particular scripture passage to meditate with or offer suggestions to help facilitate your retreat experience. Keep in mind that these sessions are completely confidential.
Who will be my spiritual director for this retreat?
The Spirituality Network will be providing the spiritual directors for this retreat. All the spiritual directors meet the following criteria:
They have completed (or near completion of) a recognized training program
They are in spiritual direction themselves
They are in peer supervision
They have agreed to abide by the Ethical Guidelines set forth by Spiritual Directors International
The spiritual directors are matched with participants based on the information given on the participant’s registration form. All efforts are made to honor specific requests of participants. Participants may decide to continue in spiritual direction after the retreat ends. If a participant wishes to continue in spiritual direction, but with a different director at the end of the retreat, a referral interview can be arranged.
Attendance limit: 10 participants
Price levels:
$100, Choose this level if you have the privilege of financial security
$75, Standard level
$50, Scholarship level
