Semesters One and Two: A Year of Spiritual Formation

This first year will provide a foundation in contemplative practices, discernment, deepening self-awareness and theological reflection.

We will weave together themes to explore:

  • Our spiritual roots through history and across traditions

  • A survey of prayer and worship practices

  • Human development; and spiritual transformation

The first year ends with a discernment retreat to determine readiness for the practicum portion of the program.

Semesters Three through Five: Practicum with continued instruction

 Practicum:

Each participant is paired with a qualified, well-trained supervisor for the duration of the program

  • Triads in class

  • Two directees monthly for one year

  • Peer supervision groups

  • Participate as a director in a Busy Person’s Retreat

Themes and skills addressed through continued instruction

Developing deeper awareness and skills for spiritual direction through a variety of relevant topics that may vary. Some of the themes addressed have been:

  • Listening skills

  • Emotional Wisdom

  • Focusing

  • Enneagram

  • New Cosmology and Eco-spirituality

  • Dream Work, Archetypes and Symbols

  • Life Transitions

Semester Six:

  • A la carte workshop offerings

  • Create final synthesis project

  • Celebrate Completion!

Ritual of Celebration for graduates takes place at the end of the sixth semester. Date to be announced.
