Spiritual Directors Association of Ohio (SDAO) is a service program of The Spirituality Network (TSN) that provides connection and support to spiritual directors throughout Ohio. Through graced opportunities to grow and learn from each other and share resources and ideas, each member receives community, companionship, and nourishment for their practice. Awakening Lives, Transforming the World
SDAO members become part of a community of awakening lives transforming the world.Enriching Quarterly Gatherings
SDAO members enjoy four, free quarterly gatherings annually. Two are scheduled for remote engagement and two are planned in-person gatherings. The scheduled dates for 2024 are listed below with “In Person” event locations to be determined.
Monday, January 29 – Zoom – 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Saturday, April 27 – In Person – 9:30 am – 12:00noon
Monday, July 22 – Zoom – 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Saturday, October 26 – In Person – 9:30 am – 12noon.
*A Zoom link for member’s gathering in January and July will be distributed the week prior.
Members Discount
SDAO members enjoy a 20% discount on professional development workshops and up to 20% off special events hosted by The Spirituality Network.Spiritual Directors Directory
Eligible SDAO members can choose to include their profile in the SDAO Spiritual Directors Directory. This is a referral directory hosted on The Spirituality Network’s “for Seekers” webpage. Members can list their services, preferred contact information, and other important information to share with seekers.
Service Projects “Giving Back”
Eligible SDAO members can participate in service projects as they are made available. These are opportunities for qualifying members to volunteer as spiritual companions for a set number of free sessions, which can become ongoing relationships at the spiritual director’s normal fees.Event Sharing and Promotion
Eligible SDAO members can share and promote their hosted events in The Spirituality Network Awakenings Newsletter. An SDAO member must be a primary host or presenter of the event.
Eligibility for referrals, directory listings, and service projects requires:
Completion of a training program with supervised practicum.
Engage in ongoing spiritual direction as well as one-on-one or peer supervision.
Adhere to the ethical guidelines of Spiritual Directors International (SDI).
Attend to your ongoing formation as a spiritual director.
Invitation to donate a portion of stipends received through TSN direct referrals.
