SDAO Membership is now open for 2025

Supporting Spiritual Directors

Spiritual Directors Association of Ohio (SDAO) is a service program of The Spirituality Network (TSN) that provides connection and support to spiritual directors throughout Ohio. Through graced opportunities to grow and learn from each other and share resources and ideas, each member receives community, companionship, and nourishment for their practice.

Here are a few of things you may want to do as a 2025 member of SDAO:

  • Submit your profile
    Submit your profile and picture to be included in the Directory of Spiritual Directors.  Our Spiritual Director's Listing will be updated on or around February 1. If you have a current listing, your profile will automatically be renewed as is, unless you tell us otherwise.  If you wish to change your listing or maybe you wish to sign up for the first time, please click here to complete the Directory Listing form. January is your one-time opportunity to make these changes 

  • Mark your calendar and join us for the four SDAO 2025 gatherings:

    • Monday, January 27, 2025 (Zoom) 5:30-7:30 pm - Group Spiritual Direction and Listening Circles

    • Saturday, April 26, 2025 (in person) 9:30 a.m.-noon  - Tapping into Creative Expression

    • Monday, July 28, 2025  (Zoom) 7:00-8:30 p.m.

    • Saturday, October 25, 2025 (in person) 9:30 a.m.-noon

A Zoom link for member’s gathering in January and July will be distributed the week prior.

  • Participate in The Spirituality Network Programs - As a member of SDAO you are offered a discount to The Spirituality Network professional development workshops.

  • Service Projects “Giving Back”
    Eligible SDAO members can participate in service projects as they are made available. These are opportunities for qualifying members to volunteer as spiritual companions for a set number of free sessions, which can become ongoing relationships at the spiritual director’s normal fees.

  • Event Sharing and Promotion
    Eligible SDAO members can share and promote their hosted events in The Spirituality Network Awakenings Newsletter. An SDAO member must be a primary host or presenter of the event.

Eligibility for referrals, directory listings, and service projects requires:

  • Completion of a training program in spiritual direction with supervised practicum.

  • Engage in ongoing spiritual direction as well as one-on-one or peer supervision.

  • Adhere to the ethical guidelines of Spiritual Directors International (SDI).

  • Attend to your ongoing formation as a spiritual director.

  • Invitation to donate a portion of stipends received through TSN direct referrals.
